Verse of the Week: 3-10-2013

Romans 14:7-8

“For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.”

Verse of the Week! 2-17-2013

Romans 8: 35, 37

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Need I say more?

Verse of the Week! 11/25/12

Romans 14: 7-9

“For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.”

Verse of the Week, 11/18/12

Romans 3: 23-24

” 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,”

This verse hits me hard every time I read it.  God’s grace and mercy are a gift, and I fail to see it day by day. I truly don’t deserve it. Not a bit. Without Christ, there is no hope. No light at the end of the tunnel… God’s greatest gift: Redemption and mercy in Jesus Christ, our Savior from our sins, the Prince of Peace. Redemption by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ Alone.

Redemption in Christ. What greater gift could we ask for?

Be Strong and Courageous/ Verses of the week 10/28/2012

Be strong and courageous!  Many times in the bible is this said. If the bible says it three times in one chapter, and again in another book, then it must be important and true.

Deuteronomy 31:6-8, 23

” ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.’ Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you;he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.’ 23 And the Lord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. I will be with you.’ ”

And one of the more known verses,

Joshua 1:9

” ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’ ”

The Lord will surely be with us wherever we go. He shows us through the bible time and time again, to remind us of His love and mercy towards us. Surely mercy and grace will follow His children all the days of their (our) lives. When we die, when we are living; we need to be strong and courageous. We have something to look forward to. We need not to be afraid of death. Like Paul says in Romans 8:38-39,

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

That is our hope. What we feed on. The hope of our salvation, of the cross, and of life with our Father eternal. For He is immortal, invisible, and the only God, all wise.
