Be Strong and Courageous/ Verses of the week 10/28/2012

Be strong and courageous!  Many times in the bible is this said. If the bible says it three times in one chapter, and again in another book, then it must be important and true.

Deuteronomy 31:6-8, 23

 ” ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.’ Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you;he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.’ 23 And the Lord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. I will be with you.’ ”

And one of the more known verses,

Joshua 1:9

” ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’ ”

The Lord will surely be with us wherever we go. He shows us through the bible time and time again, to remind us of His love and mercy towards us. Surely mercy and grace will follow His children all the days of their (our) lives. When we die, when we are living; we need to be strong and courageous. We have something to look forward to. We need not to be afraid of death. Like Paul says in Romans 8:38-39,

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

That is our hope. What we feed on. The hope of our salvation, of the cross, and of life with our Father eternal. For He is immortal, invisible, and the only God, all wise.

Fall Arrival

Hello, Ladies! I know. I know. I haven’t done a post in forever, but here I am! I, the Karen of, well, Karens!

I was outside wrapped up in a blanket reading some schoolwork when I realized that it is a BEAUTIFUL day! I just wanted to share with y’all my thoughts! God has really blessed me with a beautiful day today and I haven’t seen one like it in a while, at least from what I’ve noticed. 🙂

It rained recently and it is pretty clear. The sky is blue and the because it is the start of fall, the grass is still green, but it is still pretty cool as in “brrr”…..

He’s blessed me a lot lately and I haven’t realized it! I’ve failed to notice God’s glory shining so clearly every day. He’s a caring God. He takes care of us every second of every minute and I just sit around. While He’s shining His love on me, I fail to show at least a little of that love to my siblings.
I take all of these things for granted! I shouldn’t, but I do. Lots of people are broke, have no home, have no bed to sleep in, lots have to take whatever food they get.

I hope you girls can give examples of how He’s blessed you lately! Just look around! What blessings has He given you?

I know I’ve talked on something related like this before, but it’s something that everybody needs to repeat! We often forget it. Look around. ❤

Psalm 95:

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
