Weekends, yeah, you know what I mean…

Weekends, the epitome of “I worked hard all week, Mom, can’t you do the work and let me play video games all day?” I may be exaggerating, but you know what I mean. Weekends are not a time to lay around all day. Think about it. Does God want you help help your parents? (Hint: the answer is “yes”) Are you glorifying God by laying around playing video games and being discontent? Don’t be a seed on discontent. Philippians 2:14 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing,”  1 Peter 4:9: “Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.” The scriptures are full of examples of obedience, Jesus obeyed His Father PERFECTLY, because we couldn’t, so why do we complain when we are asked to cut the grass, clean our rooms, sweep the floor. Those little things that we complain about so often. They are nothing but dust in the wind compared to the price Jesus paid for us. Think of His sacrifice! We are to do everything as if we were doing it for Jesus, because, in our state of sin and wickedness, we need Him, and should honor the covenant that God made with us. John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” I am guilty as charged with all these things I have talked about. Please pray for others, pray for Melody, Karen and I, we’ll pray for you. We need to follow Christ’s example, pick up our crosses, and give our all for Him.
